  • Azure AI Search with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation): Enhances accuracy by grounding GPT responses with clinical terminology and medical code datasets (e.g., ICD-10, SNOMED).

Application Layer

Azure Functions: Orchestrates processing pipeline:
  1. Ingests new image/document uploads.
  2. Sends images to Vision model.
  3. Passes documents through OCR and then to GPT-4o.
  4. Merges results and stores structured data.

Data Layer

  • Blob Storage: Stores raw and annotated CT images, along with scanned PDFs and text files.
  • Cosmos DB: Acts as a fast-access cache layer for metadata, AI outputs, and real-time query storage.
  • Azure SQL: Stores structured outputs, clinical findings, timestamps, audit logs, and user annotations.
